Asman Rugs: The Asman rugs are from our own collection and offer a special blend of modern designer rugs and classic patterns. The design of these rugs we work out here in Hamburg in cooperation with the Indian designers, where you will be knotted afterwards. In the production we use only the best virgin wool, which is transformed with the added fine silk to a unique pile.
Indian Rugs: The knotting of rugs in India dates back to the Mughal Empire in the 16th century. At that time, knotting factories were built according to the Persian model. The influence of the patterns can still be seen today even though Indian rugs are very good quality, especially in new creations.

Cotton chain: Cotton is an excellent warp (base fabric) for a genuine hand-knotted rug, as it is hard-wearing and at the same time can be spun fine and close-meshed.
Hand knotted quality: Hand-knotted rugs are true works of art and, depending on the quality, require very good training and a high degree of patience. Knotting by hand makes the rugs much finer, smoother and higher quality than with other methods.
