Senneh or today called Sanandaj is the capital of the western Persian province of Kurdistan. These rugs are mostly characterized by the Boteh pattern and are either allover or decorated with a geometric medallion. Due to the long knotting tradition of the city, there are also very old and antique rugs of this province, which are particularly aged due to their fineness and quality. Such collector rugs can quickly reach a five-digit price at auction.
