Baluch rug has a special position among oriental rugs, because it is knotted in three different countries: Afghanistan, Iran and in small parts also in Pakistan. It is knotted by nomads and semi-nomads and sometimes has strong differences in quality and knotting density. Originally, this rug was knotted by the Baluch people of the same name, but today some surrounding towns and villages have also started knotting Baluch rugs.
